You would actually have a better chance of making a million by starting your own show as opposed to participating in one, which is how millionaires think. The only people in the world who do not want to be millionaires are the billionaires, since a million dollars to such people is just pocket change. However, for the rest of us, making a million dollars is a dream that we would all want to wake up to one day, and the great news is that it is actually possible. The biggest obstacle to becoming a millionaire or even a billionaire is fear. Fear will never let you quit that low-paying and highly stressful nine-to-five job that gives you just enough money to make it through to the end of the month.
If you truly want to become a millionaire you have to take the first step towards getting there and finding out how numerous other people have gotten there is a reasonable first step. This article lists down the top 15 businesses that make the most millionaires and billionaires in the world.
Do not expect to make a million dollars in your first month of starting a business in any of the industries below, but you can be sure that persistence, innovation, and a bunch of other good qualities will get you a million and even more in time.

Which business here below can you actually start?

15. Sports Businesses

One of the highlights of the weekends as well as some weeknights is that people, especially men, get the opportunity to watch their favorite teams, as well as individuals, battling for glory. Sports is a big deal in all regions of the world, making it a lucrative business not only for sportsmen and women, but more so for promoters, managers, owners of teams, betting agencies, and everyone else involved in the industry. You probably aren’t surprised to know the millions of dollars top sportsmen and women make every year, amounts that most people will hardly ever get their hands on. Sports is, therefore, one of the businesses you can make millions, whether you can play or not.

14. Communications Businesses

It is likely that everyone you know above the age of 15 years old owns a phone. Think about how terrible it would be if you found yourself in a place without any network coverage for a few days; it makes you wonder how people survived without the smartphones we have today. This dependence on phones opens up a huge market for communication businesses, since everyone needs to communicate. Communication companies might make a few dollars from an individual in a day, but when you multiply the few dollars with each company’s customer base of millions of subscribers, you get to understand how these companies make billions of dollars in profits and millions and billions for their owners.

13. Transportation businesses

Transportation plays a vital role in every economy, because it makes it possible for people, goods, and services to move to the desired destination and to facilitate trade. Transportation is a part of almost every business process, making it extremely important to the economy and the actualization of business and commerce. The various means of transport that people invest in include boats, different types of vehicles, trains, and planes. Although you can make millions from investing in any of those means of transportation, most people consider investing in air travel as a sure winner. Business persons will not mind parting with a lot of money to fly conveniently to a meeting halfway across the world and back in a private jet.

12. Agriculture Businesses

A country can survive without some of the top businesses on this list, but it will not survive without agriculture. Agriculture is a country’s source of food and since everyone eats at least a meal a day, agriculture is a business with a ready market regardless of where you are. Even though most millionaires and billionaires who make their money from agriculture invest in large-scale production, they all had to start somewhere. Agriculture has a ready market and everyone interested in it can make millions, especially with the use of modern tools, equipment, and methods. Some of the leading agriculture businesses in the world include Bernard Matthews Farms, BASF, and AVEBE.

11. Natural Resources And Mining Businesses

You must have noticed that the countries that exploit their minerals and make use of their natural resources are either incredibly rich or are constantly at war. The main reason for that is because minerals are incredibly precious and their demand far outweighs their supply, making the mining and natural resource extraction businesses very lucrative. If oil and mineral rich countries make billions of dollars from taxing the companies that engage in mining and natural resource extraction, then how much more do the business owners make. Although venturing into this kind of business requires a lot of capital, the returns are enough to make the owners millionaires.

10. Healthcare Businesses

The healthcare industry is one of the fastest growing sectors of most economies the world over, since more than any other time in history, people are going out of their way to attain or maintain good health. Businesses in healthcare include hospitals, health maintenance organizations, biotechnology firms, and the like. Aside from seeking treatment for some of  the deadliest diseases out there, people are willing to pay anything to lose weight, to enhance their appearance, and even to live longer. The beneficiaries of these needs and desires that people have are the healthcare businesses, a sector that is making millionaires and billionaires every year.

9. Manufacturing Business

Many people fear getting into the manufacturing business because someone needs a lot of capital to set up a manufacturing plant and all the equipment and labor that comes with it. However, regardless of how capital intensive this line of business might be, the profits that come flooding in are enough to make the bosses millionaires and billionaires. Manufacturing businesses use a combination of raw materials to come up with finished products, products that they sell at the current market rate or at whatever price they want. Some of the biggest and most profitable manufacturing businesses include Toyota, Volkswagen, Samsung, and General Electric among others. Even smaller manufacturing companies have produced numerous millionaires.

8. Real Estate And Construction Businesses

Real estate and construction are some of the most profitable businesses to venture into, because the demand for land, housing, and office space far surpasses the supply. Land appreciates exponentially over a short period and this makes it a very attractive investment especially for people with the financial muscle to buy huge chunks of land. Furthermore, individuals or companies with enough money to purchase land, construct housing units or office space, and then sell or rent it out to the public are sure to smile all the way to the bank as soon as the project is complete. Although some people claim that this line of business is only for the wealthy, many people have moved from rags to riches through investing in real estate and construction.

7. Accommodation And Food Services Businesses

Everyone knows the traditional and immediate basic needs of every individual are food, shelter, and clothing, although the list is slowly growing to include technology. One way to become a millionaire is to start a business that provides for basic human needs, which is the reason why the accommodation and food services businesses rank so highly. Business establishments that provide customers with accommodation, meals, and snacks for immediate consumption such as hotels, and restaurants make a lot of money. 5-star hotels and the best restaurants make the most money in this line of business, and consequently make the most millionaires. The owners and managers of these businesses take home the millions, while the workers at the bottom earn just a small fraction.

6. Entertainment And Recreation Businesses

You must have heard the saying “All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.” Most people around the world live by that code, and it contributes to making them even more productive in their work. The entertainment and recreation businesses out there tap into the desire for people to take a break from their regular schedules and have some fun. The great thing about this line of business is that even the business owners have a lot of fun in the process of making money, a kind of a win-win situation for the business owners and entertainers. People hardly ever complain about the cost that they have to pay for quality entertainment and recreation, one of the reasons why numerous people have become millionaires and even billionaires by investing here.

5. Education

The best gift that a parent can give to his or her children is an education, because education opens up doors that hardly anything else can. Furthermore, for people to find employment or advance to the next pay grade, they have to go back to school to further their education. A good number of the education millionaires are the lecturers and professors in universities and colleges, but the filthy rich are the owners of private schools and private universities and colleges, who take advantage of the high demand for education, which they offer at a fee. Education is profitable all round since you can acquire skills that can make you millions or you can own a school and make millions.

4. Technology Businesses

Gone are the days we used to think that technology was the future, because whether we want to admit it or not, technology is the present. Hardly will an individual spend a few hours during the day without interacting with technology, especially the communication technology type. Whether you are thinking along the lines of Fortune 500 technology companies such as Google, Apple, Microsoft, and Amazon, or lesser known technology companies and IT providers, there is no denying that technology breeds millionaires and billionaires. Furthermore, technology keeps advancing and the consumers, who are the bigger percentage of the human race, want to keep up with the trends without minding so much about the cost.

3. Wholesale, Retail, and Fashion Businesses

The first thing that people do when they receive their salaries is to buy stuff. Although financial advisers encourage everyone to save and invest first, eventually every income earner has to come to the point where he or she will spend, and here is where the wholesale, retail, and fashion industries come in. Individuals buy whatever they need in retail stores, which in turn buy everything in bulk from wholesalers. People, who understand just how important the sale of goods is, make millions beyond most people’s wildest dreams. The fashion industry, whether in wholesale or retail makes money in that way, where everyone involved between the manufacturer and the consumer makes so much money from the slightest value addition.

2. Financial Services Businesses

Do you want a sure way to becoming a millionaire or a billionaire? Start a Bank. Financial services businesses are undoubtedly the leader when it comes to making millionaires and even billionaires. The businesses that provide financial services include banks, stock brokerages, insurance companies, credit unions, consumer finance companies, credit-card companies, accountancy companies, and the like. Financial service businesses hold almost all the money in any economy and in addition to charging fees for their services, these have the advantage of investing and making more money using other people’s money. Examples of well-known financial services companies with the largest revenues include Berkshire Hathaway (USA), AXA (France), American Express (USA), Allianz (Germany), ICBC (China), and HSBC (UK).

10 Guru Nanak Dev Lessons That Make Sense Even Today

Five centuries after the passing of Guru Nanak, his words still resonate with his followers.  Let's take a look at 10 of his teachings that make sense to this day.

1. Never forget the poor.

This mantra was relevant in 1500 when there was no concept of poverty alleviation, and is just as relevant now, when poverty hasn't left the world.  When Nanak was 12, his father gave him Rs. 20 to set up a business. Nanak bought food worth Rs. 20 and gave it away. When his father asked him about this investment, Nanak told him it was a "true business".
Today, a Gurudwara named Sacha Sauda (true business) exists, where Guru Nanak fed the poor.

2. There is one God.

Using religion to segregate people into categories is awful. In the Guru's own words, "There is neither Hindu nor Muslim."
On his visit to Hardiwar, he saw people offering the water of the Ganges towards the sun in the east, as an offering to their ancestors in heaven. He began to throw water towards the West. When others ridiculed him, he said: "If Ganges water will reach your ancestors in heaven, why should the water I throw not reach my fields in the Punjab, which are far less distant?"

3. Women are equal to men.

At a time when other Indian religions wanted quiet, demure women in the temple and no women in the mosque, he permitted women to join religious gatherings and openly sing their praises of God.

4. Running away to a forest won’t give you enlightenment.

“…Remember the essence of religion/ Is meekness and sympathy/ But a life of goodness and purity/ Amid the world’s temptations…” (Guru Nanak)
Maybe one could achieve enlightenment in forests centuries ago, but we're not capable of that today. And Guru Nanak doesn’t even require you to do that. He believed that living as a householder was better than going away for a divine truth. Nanak himself was a farmer even after achieving enlightenment.

5. These five evils are probably ruining your life.

a. Ego b. Anger c. Greed d. Attachment and e. Lust.
Most, if not all, suffering of big city life comes from these five evils.

6. Find your own guru.

You need a mentor to guide you on how to live right. In Guru Nanak’s words, living right is much superior to visiting pilgrimage destinations.

7.  Be selfless.

The Punjab Golden Temple feeds over a 100,000 people of all religions every single day. Not because there is some divine gain, but because it is a sacred duty. For Nanak, the concept of selfless service was a way of life.

8.  Fight superstition of any kind.

Nanak devoted his life to attacking formal rituals, caste, and practices that didn’t make any sense. This is the simplest way you can find meaning and purpose in your own life – cutting out the clutter of what society dictates you should do.

9. Simplicity is beautiful.

It is not hard to practice the tenets of Sikhism. There are only 3!
Kirat Karo: Making an honest living
Naam Japna: Remembering God at all times
Vand Chako: Sharing with others

10. Travel!

There is much to be gained from your journeys.  At a time when religious leaders never ventured out of their villages, Guru Nanak walked, yes, walked, to Iraq, Ladakh, Tibet and Saudi Arabia!

Top 10 Things People Hardly Know About India

India is a country known for more bad than good. Known for poverty, crime and corruption among other things, India has slowly become more of a “must avoid” rather than a “must visit” country over the years. But it is not all bad in the 7th largest and 2nd most populated country in the world. Although movies and documentaries show India as a poor, desolate country riddled with beggars and disease, the newer generations are working hard to lift the veil of despair off their nation. Let us take a look at some little known facts about India that make it rare rather than bad.

10. The Country Is Very Young

It is a fact that India is a very young and maturing country. In fact, in a population of over 1.2 billion, more than 50% are aged 25 years or less. On top of that two thirds of the nation is under 35 years of age. This means that slowly but surely the country is developing with greater strength in youth. Their ideas and decisions is what is changing the way people look at India today. Very rarely would foreign investors think of India as a haven to do business but it is all changing thanks to the youth.

9. Barely Anyone Pays Tax

This might not sound like a good thing and it probably is not but the reason behind this should be understood before putting it down to “corruption”. India is a country that basically runs on its farming and cultivation and we all know that agriculture is exempt from taxation. Since more than 50% of Indians live in and around rural areas, their sole occupation is farming and agriculture. This means they do not have to pay tax. Another large area where taxation is extremely hard to practice is in India’s manual labor. It is very unorganized and this makes it difficult to keep a track of employees and their earnings.

8. The Pre-Wedding Spy

In a land where arranged marriage dominates, parents search for only the best for their daughters and will stop at nothing to get that. If you are driving down an Indian highway, you are sure to see billboards on the side of the road saying “Wedding Detective”. If you wonder what that is, do not over think it because it is exactly what you think it is. Many of these detective companies have sprung up across the country and provide detailed information about the groom to be and his past relationships (if any). These detectives actually get themselves involved with close friends and family of the groom through any means possible and try and withdraw information from them. If all is cleared, the couple is free to enter in matrimony.

7. Horn Please

You can only imagine what the traffic scene is in a country that is the second most populous country in the world. Traffic jams are a regular in the country on every road, street and by-lane. Add that to the constant honking and you have yourself a sure shot migraine in a matter of minutes. India actually promotes honking as you will see behind all trucks and lorries. The words “Honk OK Please” are painted on so that vehicles overtaking from behind know they have to honk to alert the driver in front. Sadly, the drivers in India take that as a sign to keep their fingers on the horn continuously. Well, at least we know that there would be fewer accidents caused by overtaking.

6. Newspapers Run Strong

While most of the world is slowly getting rid of newspapers as they can get their news on their smartphones or tablets, India still believes the best way to get their daily dose of the happenings from around the world is to hold a newspaper and read it. The reason behind this is because the literacy rate has risen significantly but the rate of internet usage has decreased. Another reason is the number of languages that are spoken in the country. These newspapers print in all the various languages unlike online news where you could get the news in maybe 10 languages at max. Buying a newspaper in India is reasonably cheaper than using the internet as well. And the best thing about reading all these newspapers is that you can sell them back to a person for a price and they in turn sell them again. It’s a very different type of recycling.

5. Obesity on the Rise

Not unlike the rest of the world, Indians are gradually starting to pack on the pounds and are inching their way to obesity (no pun intended). With the rise of fast food and packaged processed foods hitting the supermarkets, fresh food is being forgotten about. As people are putting a greater emphasis on work, they have no time to cook a meal and carry it to work. They would rather buy a cheap fast food meal from the roadside and head back to work. The funny thing is that this ground shaking (again, no pun intended) revelation is not only affecting humans, but animals too. The pets we keep at home are being fed with the same processed food and they are getting fatter by the meal.

4. Plastic Chairs Everywhere

This is one thing that is constant in a country filled with ever changing traits. The plastic chair has become as common as the cow sitting in the middle of a traffic logged road. It can be found in every house, restaurant, hotel, school, hospital, office and so on and so forth. Although the design may vary (with and without handles), these chairs are located everywhere. Some people even remove the back rest and use the remaining chair as table. There is no stopping this chair from its uses and the Indians have come to love this strong and durable furniture.

3. Spitting and Peeing Publically

This is something that India does not take pride in although some Indians do. These two horrendous acts have set the bar really low for anti-India critiques. Spitting in India has become like a trend where people now feel it is their duty to spit on the roads and on building walls. It is the same wit peeing. It has become so bad that the government has started building public restrooms on the road for these perpetrators but that does not stop them. I remember seeing a man peeing just beside a restroom once and wondered why he couldn’t do the job inside. There is a funny one liner that says “In foreign countries, you can kiss on the road. In India, you can pee (a word that rhymes with kiss) on the road”.

2. Superstitions

In a land of mythical creatures and wild imagination, superstitions are bound to follow. Indians are very superstitious about basically everything from crossing the road after a cat crosses to not wearing new clothes on a Saturday. Even accepting or giving something with the left hand is considered bad luck. These customs are followed rigidly by everyone; rich or poor. Placing a flower garland on a new motorbike or automobile is a must as they believe it should be blessed before they can use it.

1. Take it to The Streets

India is a country that likes to take things to a whole different level but this is insanely wonderful. The streets are actually where most Indians spend their time. Whether you want something to eat or need something fixed, you can be rest assured that you will find it on the street and for a poultry amount. From shoe repairs, fast food, ayurvedic doctors, bone “specialists”, ear and nose cleaners, hair dressers and a lot more can be found on the road.
